The Awards and the criteria to be met for the Test Valley Business Awards 11/12 are:


 

Tourism Business of the Year - Test Valley Borough Council

Test Valley Borough Council

Entry Criterion:

Any Test Valley business associated with the tourism and leisure sector including attractions, accommodation providers, retail and catering such as pubs, restaurants and eateries of any kind.

Judging Criteria:

  • A professional and welcoming attitude to customers
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of Test Valley as a lovely place to visit using interesting marketing
  • Innovative approach to developing the business.

 

New Business of the Year Award - North Hampshire Enterprise

North Hampshire Enterprise

Entry Criterion:

Open to businesses which began trading after January 2009.

Judging Criteria:

  • Continued growth since start-up
  • Meeting and overcoming challenges
  • Demonstrating originality

 

Employer of the Year Award - Kier

Kier Group is a leading construction, services and property group specialising in building and civil engineering, support services, public and private house building, property development and the Private Finance Initiative (PFI).

Entry Criterion:

We will look for businesses, large and small, with a culture where staff enjoy their work, demonstrated by a commitment to an enlightened approach to staff development and wellbeing.

Judging Criteria:

Entrants should be able to demonstrate a minimum of two:

  • Businesses that offer an innovative approach to staff with flexible benefits that improve their lives and communities.
  • Businesses that encourage and recognise staff initiatives, i.e. awards.
  • Businesses that encourage staff growth, both personally and professionaly, i.e. formal training.
  • Businesses that nurture staff passion about business, through personal involvement, to make successful business.

 

Innovation & Technology Award - University of Southampton Science Park

University of Southampton Science Park

Entry Criterion:

Achievement of business success through innovative application of new ideas, technology or practices.

Judging Criteria:

Entrants should demonstrate they have achieved two or more of the following:

  • A product or process that has made a significant difference to sales revenue.
  • A commitment to the use of technology that has led to business success.
  • Evidence of an innovative approach to marketing, management or product development.

 

Small Business of the Year Award - Hampshire County Council

Hampshire County Council

Entry Criterion:

A business employing up to 15 people

Judging Criteria:

  • Focus on quality customer service.
  • Recent successes and future challenges.
  • Achieving targets.
