The Mayor of Test Valley visits Test Valley Business Awards 2016 winner, The Weyhill Farm Shop…
The Worshipful the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Karen Hamilton, has paid tribute to Test Valley Business Awards 2016 winners of the Doing Business Locally Award, The Weyhill Farm Shop, during a personal appearance on Thursday, 13th October.
The visit, which marks the first in a series of initiatives created for this year’s Awards winners, saw The Mayor come face to face with Master Butcher Richard Woods, Rolande Trivett, and their loyal team; to learn more about the products on offer, heritage & ethos, and overall aspirations of this thriving local business.
Richard Woods remarked after the visit:
“We’re really proud to have won the Test Valley Business Awards ‘Doing Business Locally’ Award. We try and source everything locally – from the beer brewed in Hurstbourne Tarrant to the sausages produced by us here – Almost everything we sell can be traced back to somewhere within the Test Valley and Hampshire.
“To have welcomed the Mayor into our shop was also a great honour. We believe that the Test Valley is an exciting, enriching, and unique place to live and work, and we want to celebrate that in everything we do.”
The Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Karen Hamilton, commented:
“I very much enjoyed meeting with, and learning more about, The Weyhill Farm Shop and the wonderful people that run it. To see a business so passionate about promoting its local area – and the wonderful things happening here – is fantastic. My congratulations goes to Richard & Rolande for winning an award.”
Now in its 12th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a steering group of volunteers and supported by the Council – has become a well-established platform to promote businesses excellence and especially to shine a light on the many new and small innovative businesses operating out of sight. It is a great way to enable smaller enterprises to gain the recognition and exposure to grow.
