With less than a month to go until the Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony, held at the Army Flying Museum on 12th September, the spotlight is on the finalists in this year’s New Business of the Year Award category.
Sponsored and judged by Test Valley Borough Council, the New Business of the Year Award was open to entries from business based within the Test Valley that began trading after January 2015 and could demonstrate continued growth since start-up, meeting and overcoming challenges, and demonstrate originality.
The finalists in this category for 2019 are:
- The Lifestyle Card
- Ava May Aromas
- Multax Ltd.
Cllr David Drew of Test Valley Borough Council remarked of sponsoring the Test Valley Business Awards:
“Test Valley is delighted to sponsor the New Business of the Year award, both because it supports new businesses in a variety of practical ways but also because new businesses add dynamism to the engine of tomorrow’s economy. They bring energy and innovation to our economy and are quick to adapt to the new challenges ahead.”
This year’s winners will be revealed during the long awaited Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony which also presents an ideal opportunity for local business people to network with up to 200 like-minded individuals in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Daryl Chapman, Director at Ava May Aromas, commented of being shortlisted in this category:
“Ava May Aromas are delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘New Business of the Year’ award in the ‘Test Valley Business Awards.’
“We have only just completed our first years trading and to have recognition from such a prestigious business organisation gives us a real sense of pride and achievement. Any new business venture can be extremely daunting and often lonely.
“To know that there is a business organisation that takes the time to recognise the hard work, the risk and the long hours is both reassuring and motivating.”
Similarly, Sean Caruana, Company Director of The Lifestyle Card, remarked:
“We are delighted and honoured to be shortlisted in this prestigious category. It has been an amazing year for The Lifestyle Card, seeing a rapid growth in businesses offering a discount and companies purchasing them as employee reward cards.
“Reviews from our members are highlighting how the discounts are making an impact on their lifestyle, whilst putting money back into the community. Being a finalist means a great deal to us and presents a great opportunity for us to showcase local businesses.”
The Test Valley Business Awards Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony is supported by an array of generous local businesses, the Awards’ sponsors, including this year’s Special Sponsors Barratt Homes.
Tickets for the Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony on 12th September are available to book via the Awards’ website or by visiting: https://tvba2019galadinner.eventbrite.co.uk, and cost just £60 to include welcome drink & 3 course meal.
Now in its 15th year, the Test Valley Business Awards – run by a steering group of volunteers – has become a well-established platform to champion business excellence. It is a great way of shining a light particularly on the many new and small businesses in the region, all doing interesting and valuable work, but often out of sight.
